In most of the country the third Monday is April is just another day - people go to work, kids go to school, etc. But in Massachusetts it's Patriots' Day or "Marathon Monday". Not everyone has the day off but it is thrilling to watch or listen to the coverage and cheer on the runners, especially the ones that are running to charities or special causes. My personal favorite is the father/son team of Rick and Dick Hoyt as they so inspire so many of us if so many ways.
This past Saturday I had the honor of participating in the "Seaside Wedding Show" at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, Massachusetts. The gloomy weather didn't keep over 250 people coming up to the Great House for some wonderful food from various caterers and getting a lot of information and meeting some terrific vendors. Special thanks to my wonderful helper Erin for coming up and helping me!!
We decided to stylize a dessert/candy favor table instead of doing the more standard table setting. And true to my "Type A+" ways, I did bake all the baked goods needed for this table! My inspiration for the table comes from drooling over the blog and website of Amy Atlas. She does some AMAZING things and I took a lot of inspiration from many of her delicious shots!
I chose the colors white and silver to keep it simple and show that you can stylize something really beautiful without fancy tricks or expensive treats. I think things like this speak to every kind of bride. Enjoy the pictures and enjoy "Marathon Monday"!
