Trending Tuesday: the Top 5 Beauty Products for my Wedding Day

We are thrilled to have a guest blogger and Boston Makeup Artist Dana Dodson featured on our blog today! Dana is going to give you her top five beauty products to have for your wedding day or everyday cosmetic bag! Take it away Dana!

As a wedding makeup artist for the last 15 years, I have worked with brides representing many nationalities who all have different ideas of beauty and a variety of different budgets. These are my favorite products that I use on almost every single bride, so no matter your aesthetic or skin tone, these items will help ensure you feel confident and beautiful all day long!

Set the Stage Primer from Whiphand Cosmetics is famous among makeup artists.  The reason? It's a silicone based primer that smoothes out any lines and pores on your skin, so that you look absolutely flawless and it helps keep your makeup looking fresh well into the night! $39 /

NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base - LoRes v2.jpg

NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base- my "go to" eyeshadow primer for years. It's clear, so it doesn't get that muddled, foundation look that a lot of other eyeshadow primers have, keeping your eyeshadow looking exactly as you imagined.  As part of my service for clients, I stay for a touch up after the ceremony, and this product single handedly keeps me from having to clean up the eye area after any happy tears shed. $25 /

target eyelash comb.jpg

Sonia Kashuk Lash Comb- a fold up metal comb expertly separates any mascara clumps giving you gorgeous fluttery lashes and is so easy to clean and disinfect. $4.99 /  Target

NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder- I love this product!  It is a very finely milled powder that looks uber natural on your skin and reflects light the same way naked skin would.  You know what that means??? No white face and tan neck! It is so lightweight that you can touch up as many times as you need to without looking overly made up! $35 /

revlon lip.jpg

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss- I like luxury as much as the next person, but for glosses, Revlon has a great formula and a great price!  Oftentimes clients want to change up the lip for the reception, so I recommend they keep a bolder color gloss in their clutch for touchups throughout the night! $7.99 / any major drugstore

All of these are such beauty basics- why wait for your wedding?  Look more flawless and polished every day!

Thanks Dana! We look forward to more wonderful posts from you!
