A Milk punch is a milk based brandy or bourbon cocktail. It typically consists ourbon, sugar, vanilla and vanilla sxtract. It traditionally has nutmeg sprinkled on top. We love this frozen version and think it would be perfect for a warm summer day. If you don't have vanilla gelato, you can substitute vanilla ice cream. The frozen Bourbon Milk Punch is the signature drink of the iconic Bourbon House in New Orleans, Louisiana. At the restaurant they use the daquiri machine but at home we think a blender works fine. 

Frozen Bourbon Milk Punch

Makes 1½ Quarts

  • 4 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Buffalo Trace Bourbon
  • 1/4  cup Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4  cup Simple Syrup
  • 1 pint Vanilla Gelato
  • Dash of Nutmeg for garnish

Combine all ingredients and blend for eight seconds. Garnish each glass with freshly grated nutmeg.
